Karna–Indra Exchange of Kavaca-Kuṇḍala for the Vāsavī-Śakti
A dharmic leader should practice steadiness: grief may arise, but one should not be ruled by it. The verse praises inner resilience as a mark of mahātmanhood and urges self-control in adversity.
Mārkaṇḍeya addresses the Kuru king (Yudhiṣṭhira in context of the Vana Parva dialogues), consoling him and exhorting him to abandon sorrow, reminding him of the noble standard expected of one of his stature.
