भ्रातृणां च प्रियं राजन्‌ स चकार परंतप: । निश्चित्य मनसा वीरो दत्तभुक्तफलं धनम्‌

Transliteration

bhrātṝṇāṃ ca priyaṃ rājan sa cakāra paraṃtapaḥ | niścitya manasā vīro dattabhukta-phalaṃ dhanam ||

Translation

Vaiśaṃpāyana berkata: “Wahai Raja, pahlawan itu, pembinasa musuh, telah menetapkan dalam hatinya untuk melakukan apa yang disenangi saudara-saudaranya. Maka dia membahagikan harta agar hasilnya dinikmati sebagai pemberian dan sebagai bahagian yang sah—menyempurnakan kedua-duanya: kemurahan hati dan pembahagian yang adil.”
