Draupadī’s Identification of the Pāṇḍavas and the Onset of the Chariot Engagement

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores ethical self-awareness: when one is saved by righteous people, one should feel humility, gratitude, and a corrective sense of shame if one’s conduct has been dishonorable or unworthy of such help.

The speaker points out that the addressed person had been forcibly captured by enemies and then rescued by the Pāṇḍavas; despite this, the person shows no embarrassment or moral restraint, prompting a rebuke.
