Report of Draupadī’s Abduction and the Pāṇḍavas’ Pursuit
(कृत्यया55नाय्यकथितं यत् तस्यां निशि दानवै: ।) न चाचचक्षे कस्मैचिदेतद् राजा सुयोधन:,दानवोंने रातमें कृत्याद्वारा अपने यहाँ बुलाकर जो बातें कही थीं, उन्हें राजा दुर्योधनने किसीपर भी प्रकट नहीं किया
kṛtyayā nāyyakathitaṃ yat tasyāṃ niśi dānavaiḥ | na cācacakṣe kasmaicid etad rājā suyodhanaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Apa pun yang disampaikan para Dānava kepadanya pada malam itu—setelah memanggilnya melalui perantaraan kṛtyā—Raja Suyodhana tidak mendedahkannya kepada sesiapa pun.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical danger of secret, occult-driven counsel: when a ruler relies on dubious means and then conceals the resulting advice, he moves away from transparent, accountable governance associated with dharma.
Duryodhana (Suyodhana) is contacted at night through a kṛtyā, and the Dānavas speak to him. He keeps what they said entirely secret and does not reveal it to anyone.
