मुद्गलोपाख्यानम् — व्रीहिद्रोणदानं, दुर्वाससः परीक्षा, स्वर्गगुणप्रश्नः

शिरोभि: प्रपतद्धिश्व॒ चरणैर्बाहुभिस्तथा । अभ्मवृष्टिरिवाभाति परेषामभवद् भयम्,गन्धर्वोंके मस्तक, बाहु तथा पैर कट-कटकर इस प्रकार गिरने लगे मानो पत्थरोंकी वर्षा हो रही हो। इससे शत्रुओंको बड़ा भय होने लगा
śirobhiḥ prapatad dhiśva caraṇair bāhubhis tathā | aśmavṛṣṭir ivābhāti pareṣām abhavad bhayam |
Kepala, kaki dan lengan jatuh bertaburan ke segala arah; kelihatan seolah-olah hujan batu sedang turun. Melihat pembantaian yang menggerunkan itu, ketakutan pun timbul dalam hati para pejuang pihak lawan.
