वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it highlights a dharmic rhythm in the epic: counsel and moral reflection culminate in responsible action. Kṛṣṇa’s departure underscores the ethic of timely duty—returning to one’s obligations after completing a necessary exchange of guidance.
The narrator signals the end of a chapter/section within the Vana Parva: the dialogue unit involving Draupadī and Satyabhāmā has reached a close, and the specific episode noted is Śrī Kṛṣṇa setting out for Dvārakā. It functions as a formal transition marker to the next narrative segment.
