मातापितृपूजन-प्रधानधर्मः (Primacy of Filial Service) — Mārkaṇḍeya’s Account of the Vyādha’s Instruction
स तु देवान् सगन्धर्वान् जित्वा धुन्धुरमर्षण: । बबाध सर्वानसकृद् विष्णु देवांश्व वै भूशम्,धुन्धु अमर्षमें भरा हुआ था। उसने गन्धर्व-सहित सम्पूर्ण देवताओंको जीतकर भगवान् विष्णु तथा अन्य देवताओंको बार-बार महान वष्ट देना प्रारम्भ किया
sa tu devān sagandharvān jitvā dhundhur amarṣaṇaḥ | babādha sarvān asakṛd viṣṇuṃ devāṃś ca vai bhṛśam ||
Markandeya berkata: “Dhundhu, yang dipenuhi amarah yang ganas, mula-mula menewaskan para dewa bersama para Gandharva; kemudian, berulang kali, dia menindas mereka semua dengan kekerasan—malah menyerang Vishnu dan dewa-dewa yang lain.”
