Guṇa-vibhāga and Prāṇa–Agni–Yoga Upadeśa (गुणविभाग तथा प्राण-अग्नि-योगोपदेश)
अथ शुश्राव राजर्षि तमुत्तड़को नराधिप । वनं सम्प्रस्थितं राजन बृहदश्व॑ द्विजोत्तम:,राजन! तदनन्तर द्विजश्रेष्ठ उत्तड़कने यह सुना कि राजर्षि बृहदश्व वनको चले जा रहे हैं
atha śuśrāva rājarṣi tam uttāḍako narādhipa | vanaṃ samprasthitaṃ rājan bṛhadaśvo dvijottamaḥ ||
Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: Kemudian Uttāḍaka, penghulu manusia, mendengar bahawa resi-raja Bṛhadaśva—yang utama dalam kalangan brāhmaṇa—telah berangkat menuju rimba. Berita ini menggerakkan kisah: seorang yang dihormati, mengetahui dharma, sedang dalam perjalanan, dan perjalanannya menjadi kesempatan bagi nasihat serta pengajaran.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
