bhīma uvāca: ko bhavān? ki-nimittaṃ vā vānaraṃ vapur āsthitaḥ? brāhmaṇānantaro varṇaḥ kṣatriyas tvāṃ tu pṛcchati.
Bhīma berkata: “Siapakah tuan, dan atas sebab apa tuan mengambil tubuh seekor wanara? Aku seorang Kshatriya—golongan yang menyusul selepas Brahmin—dan aku meminta tuan menyatakan siapa tuan.”
The verse models disciplined inquiry: even a powerful warrior approaches an unknown being with respectful questioning, grounding the encounter in dharma and social responsibility rather than aggression.
In the forest episode, Bhima meets a mysterious figure in a monkey’s form and challenges him with questions—asking his identity and purpose—while identifying himself as a Kshatriya who has the duty to investigate such a situation.
