भरद्वाजपुत्रवधः

The Slaying of Bharadvāja’s Son and the Sage’s Lament

प्रकाल्यमानस्तेनायं शूलहस्तेन रक्षसा । अग्न्यागारं प्रति द्वारि मया दोर्भ्या निवारित:,राक्षस अपने हाथमें शूल लेकर इसका पीछा कर रहा था और यह अग्निशालामें घुसा जा रहा था। उस समय मैंने दोनों हाथोंसे पकड़कर इसे द्वारपर ही रोक लिया

prakālyamānas tenāyaṁ śūlahastena rakṣasā | agnyāgāraṁ prati dvāri mayā dorbhyāṁ nivāritaḥ ||

“Ketika dia dikejar hebat oleh rākṣasa yang memegang tombak (śūla), dia meluru ke arah rumah suci api (agnyāgāra). Di ambang pintu itulah aku memeluknya dengan kedua-dua lengan dan menahannya di situ.”
