rākṣasa uvāca: kena sārtha kathayasi? ānaya enaṃ mamāntikam | hiḍimbe bhakṣayiṣyāmo na ciraṃ kartum arhasi ||
Rākṣasa itu berkata: “Wahai Hiḍimbā! Dengan siapa engkau berbicara? Bawa dia ke hadapanku. Kita akan memakannya; jangan berlengah lama.”
The verse highlights adharma through predatory violence and coercive speech: the rākṣasa normalizes killing as consumption and pressures Hiḍimbā to hasten wrongdoing, illustrating how immoral intent often comes with domination and impatience.
Hiḍimba, the man-eating rākṣasa, notices Hiḍimbā speaking with a human (implied to be among the Pāṇḍavas) and orders her to bring him close so that they may devour him, warning her not to delay.
