Akṛtavraṇa’s Account Begins: Gādhi–Satyavatī–Ṛcīka and the Bhārgava Lineage Prelude

ततः प्रसादयामास श्वशुरं सा पुन: पुनः । न मे पुत्रो भवेदीदृक्‌ काम॑ पौत्रो भवेदिति,तब सत्यवतीने बारंबार प्रार्थना करके पुनः अपने श्वशुरको प्रसन्न किया और कहा --“भगवन! मेरा पुत्र ऐसा न हो। भले ही, पौत्र क्षत्रियस्वभावका हो जाय”

tataḥ prasādayāmāsa śvaśuraṃ sā punaḥ punaḥ | na me putro bhaved īdṛk kāmaṃ pautro bhaved iti |

Kemudian dia berulang kali memohon untuk menenangkan hati bapa mertuanya, lalu berkata: “Semoga anak lelakiku jangan menjadi seperti ini; biarlah cucuku, jika perlu, berwatak kṣatriya (golongan pahlawan).”
