Akṛtavraṇa’s Account Begins: Gādhi–Satyavatī–Ṛcīka and the Bhārgava Lineage Prelude
मर्मर्द देवान् यक्षांश्व ऋषीं श्वैव समन्तत: । भूतांश्नैव स सर्वास्तु पीडयामास सर्वतः,महामना कार्तवीर्यके रथकी गतिको कोई भी रोक नहीं सकता था। उस रथ और वरके प्रभावसे शक्तिसम्पन्न हुआ कार्तवीर्य अर्जुन सब ओर घूमकर सदा देवताओं, यक्षों तथा ऋषियोंको रौंदता फिरता था और सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंकों भी सब प्रकारसे पीड़ा देता था
marmarda devān yakṣāṁś ca ṛṣīṁś caiva samantataḥ | bhūtāṁś caiva sa sarvāṁs tu pīḍayāmāsa sarvataḥ ||
Akṛtavraṇa berkata: “Dengan kekuatan keretanya, Kārtavīrya Arjuna merayau ke mana-mana, menghancurkan para dewa, yakṣa dan para resi di segenap penjuru; bahkan dia menyeksa semua makhluk dalam segala cara.”
अकृतव्रण उवाच
Power and extraordinary capability become ethically corrupt when directed toward harming others; a ruler’s strength is meant for protection and restraint, not for trampling even the divine and the wise. The verse frames Kārtavīrya’s conduct as a warning about hubris and the slide into adharma.
Akṛtavraṇa describes Kārtavīrya Arjuna, strengthened by his chariot’s influence, roaming everywhere and violently subduing devas, Yakṣas, and ṛṣis, while also afflicting all living beings—portraying him as a disruptive, oppressive force in the world.
