इन्द्रस्य दुःखप्राप्तिः—त्रिशिरोवधः, वृत्रोत्पत्तिः, जृम्भिकाजननम्

Indra’s Distress: Slaying of Triśiras, Birth of Vṛtra, and the Origin of Yawning

तस्माच्छक्रविनाशाय वृत्रमुत्पादयाम्यहम्‌ । लोकाः पश्यन्तु मे वीर्य तपसश्न॒ बल॑ महत्‌,अतः मैं भी देवेन्द्रके विनाशके लिये वृत्रासुरको उत्पन्न करूँगा। आज संसारके लोग मेरा पराक्रम तथा मेरी तपस्याका महान्‌ बल देखें

tasmāc chakra-vināśāya vṛtram utpādayāmy aham | lokāḥ paśyantu me vīryaṃ tapasaś ca balaṃ mahat ||

“Oleh itu, demi kebinasaan Śakra (Indra), aku akan melahirkan Vṛtra. Biarlah segala dunia menyaksikan keberanianku dan kekuatan besar tapaku.”
