शक्र उवाच पश्चाद्‌ धर्म चरिष्यामि पावनार्थ सुदुश्चरम्‌ । शत्रुरेष महावीरयों वज्ेण निहतो मया,इन्द्रने कहा--यह मेरा महान्‌ शक्तिशाली शत्रु था, जिसे मैंने वज़्से मार डाला है। इसके बाद ब्रह्महत्यासे अपनी शुद्धि करनेके लिये मैं किसी ऐसे धर्मका अनुष्ठान करूँगा, जो दूसरोंके लिये अत्यन्त दुष्कर हो

Transliteration

śakra uvāca paścād dharma cariṣyāmi pāvanārtha suduścaram | śatrur eṣa mahāvīryo vajreṇa nihato mayā ||

Translation

Śakra (Indra) berkata: “Selepas ini, demi penyucian, aku akan melaksanakan suatu amalan dharma yang amat sukar. Inilah musuhku yang gagah dan perkasa, yang telah aku bunuh dengan vajra (petir).”
