Kṛṣṇa at Duryodhana’s House: Refusal of Hospitality and Departure to Vidura (कृष्णस्य धार्तराष्ट्रनिवेशनगमनम्)

The verse highlights the ethical and emotional weight of truthfulness and steadfastness: Draupadī is characterized as satyavādinī even while enduring intense grief from separation, suggesting that virtue is tested and revealed under suffering.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana reports that the speaker (addressing someone as “ariṁdama,” a foe-tamer) has not seen Draupadī for a long time—now into the fourteenth year—because she has been deeply afflicted by separation from her sons and close family members.
