कुरुसभायां केशवागमन-सत्कारविधानम् / Preparations to Honor Keśava at the Kuru Court

पदातीनां सहस्नं च सादिनां च परंतप । भोज्यं च विपुलं राजन प्रेष्याश्न शतशो5परे,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाले नरेश! महाबाहु श्रीकृष्णके प्रस्थान करते समय विपक्षी वीरोंपर विजय पानेवाले शस्त्रधारी दस महारथी, एक हजार पैदल योद्धा, एक हजार घुड़सवार, प्रचुर खाद्य-सामग्री तथा दूसरे सैकड़ों सेवक उनके साथ गये

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

padātīnāṃ sahasraṃ ca sādīnāṃ ca parantapa |

bhojyaṃ ca vipulaṃ rājan preṣyāś ca śataśo 'pare ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai penghangus musuh, wahai raja, ada seribu askar berjalan kaki dan seribu penunggang kuda, bekalan makanan yang melimpah, serta ratusan pelayan yang lain.” Narasi ini menegaskan bahawa bahkan misi yang benar pun mesti ditempuh dengan kesiapsiagaan yang nyata—perlindungan, logistik, dan rombongan yang berdisiplin—agar kewajiban dapat dilaksanakan dengan berkesan di tengah konflik yang kian mendekat.
