Udyoga Parva, Chapter 81: Krishna Sets Out as Envoy
niramārṣeṣv aceṣṭeṣu prekṣamāṇeṣu pāṇḍuṣu | pāhi mām iti govinda manasā cintito 'si me ||
When human support fails due to fear, confusion, or moral paralysis, sincere inner refuge in the Divine becomes the final shelter; the verse also critiques passive spectatorship as an ethical lapse.
In a moment of humiliation and danger, the Pāṇḍavas remain watching without anger or action; the distressed speaker inwardly invokes Govinda (Kṛṣṇa) with the plea ‘Protect me,’ and her honor is saved through divine intervention.
