Dvārakāyāṃ Sāhāyya-vibhāgaḥ (Alliance Allocation at Dvārakā) /
tava pūrvābhigamanāt pūrva cāpy asya darśanāt | sāhāyyam ubhayor eva kariṣyāmi suyodhana ||
“Kerana engkau tiba lebih awal, namun aku melihat dia terlebih dahulu, wahai Suyodhana, maka aku akan menghulurkan bantuan kepada kedua-dua pihak.”
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
Kṛṣṇa articulates a principle of fairness in contested claims: he recognizes both the priority of one party’s approach and the legitimacy of the other party’s prior connection, and therefore resolves to assist both, preventing accusations of partiality.
On the eve of the Kurukṣetra conflict, Suyodhana and Arjuna seek Kṛṣṇa’s support. Kṛṣṇa notes that Suyodhana arrived first while Arjuna was seen first, and declares that he will provide assistance to both sides, setting up the later division between Kṛṣṇa’s personal presence and his army.
