Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 50 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Bhīmasena (भीमसेनभयवर्णनम्)

जवेन वाजिनोडत्येति बलेनात्येति कुज्जरान्‌ | अव्यक्तजल्पी मध्वक्षो मध्यम: पाण्डवो बली,वह स्पष्ट नहीं बोलता। उसकी आँखें सदा मधुके समान पिंगलवर्णकी दिखायी देती हैं। वह महाबली मध्यम पाण्डव अपने वेगसे घोड़ोंको भी लाँच सकता है और बलसे हाथियोंको भी पराजित कर सकता है

dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | javena vājino ’tyeti balenātyeti kuñjarān | avyaktajalpī madhvakṣo madhyamaḥ pāṇḍavo balī ||

Dhṛtarāṣṭra berkata: “Dengan kelajuan semata-mata dia dapat mengatasi kuda, dan dengan kekuatan semata-mata dia dapat menewaskan gajah. Pāṇḍava yang tengah itu—perkasa lagi kuat—bertutur tidak jelas, dan matanya tampak berwarna madu.”
