Chapter 49: Sañjaya’s Enumeration of the Pāṇḍava Coalition (पाण्डवसैन्यसमागम-वर्णनम्)

The verse uses the dawn-sun simile to convey that true authority is recognized through dharmic radiance—moral integrity and rightful conduct naturally draw respect and support, especially in moments when alliances and decisions before war are being formed.
Sanjaya describes the Panchalas acclaiming Yudhishthira. His arrival is portrayed as luminous and auspicious, signaling the Panchalas’ approval and solidarity with the Pandavas in the tense lead-up to the Kurukshetra war.
