Adhyaya 32: Saṃjaya’s Return, Audience with Dhṛtarāṣṭra, and Ethical Admonition

यस्य संसारिणी प्रज्ञा धर्मार्थावनुवर्तते । कामादर्थ वृणीते य: स वै पण्डित उच्यते,जिसकी लौकिक बुद्धि धर्म और अर्थका ही अनुसरण करती है और जो भोगको छोड़कर पुरुषार्थका ही वरण करता है, वही पण्डित कहलाता है

yasya saṃsāriṇī prajñā dharmārthāv anuvartate | kāmād arthaṃ vṛṇīte yaḥ sa vai paṇḍita ucyate ||

Vidura berkata: “Orang yang benar-benar bijaksana ialah dia yang kecerdasan dunianya hanya mengikuti dharma dan artha, dan yang—mengetepikan kama (kenikmatan)—memilih tujuan yang benar serta manfaat yang bermakna.”
