तव हामी मन्त्रविद: समेत्य समासते कर्मसु नित्ययुक्ता: । तेषामयं बलवान निश्चय श्र कुरुक्षये नियमेनोदपादि,सदा कर्मोामें नियुक्त किये हुए ये आपके मन्त्रवेत्ता मन्‍्त्री कर्ण आदि एकत्र होकर बैठक किया करते हैं। इन्होंने (पाण्डवोंको राज्य न देनेका) जो प्रबल निश्चय कर लिया है, यह अवश्य ही कौरवोंके भावी विनाशका कारण बन गया है

tava hāmī mantravidaḥ sametya samāsate karmasu nityayuktāḥ | teṣām ayaṃ balavān niścayaḥ śrī-kuru-kṣaye niyamena udapādi ||

Sanjaya berkata: “Para penasihatmu, mahir dalam siasah dan musyawarah, berhimpun dan duduk dalam kesiapsiagaan yang berterusan bagi urusan negara. Namun tekad yang keras yang mereka bentuk—dipakukan oleh keazaman yang sengaja dipertahankan—telah timbul di tanah Kuru sebagai sebab yang pasti akan masak menjadi kebinasaan kaum Kaurava, kerana ia berakar pada keengganan berlaku adil terhadap Pandava.”
