अथास्रमस्रवद् घोरं गिरेगैरिकधातुवत् । रामेण सुमहाबाहो क्षतस्य छतजेक्षण,लाल नेत्रोंवाले महाबाहु दुर्योधन! परशुरामजीके द्वारा किये हुए उस गहरे आघातसे भयंकर रक्तकी धारा बह चली। मानो पर्वतसे गैरिक धातुमिश्रित जलका झरना झर रहा हो
athāsramasravad ghoraṁ gire gairikadhātuvat | rāmeṇa sumahābāho kṣatasya chatajīkṣaṇa ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Kemudian, wahai Duryodhana yang berlengan perkasa, yang matanya merah seperti rona payung kebesaran, daripada luka dalam yang ditoreh oleh Rāma (Paraśurāma) memancutlah aliran darah yang menggerunkan—bagaikan mata air gunung yang mengalir dengan air berbaur oker merah.”
