The verse highlights how anger can overwhelm discernment even in great figures, pushing conflict to renew itself. Implicitly it contrasts martial resolve with the ethical need for self-mastery (krodha-jaya) within kṣatriya conduct.
Bhīṣma recounts that Paraśurāma suddenly rises and advances toward him again, intent on resuming the duel. The description emphasizes Paraśurāma’s rage-driven agitation as he returns to the fight.
