भीष्म–रामजामदग्न्ययुद्धप्रस्थानवर्णनम्

तत एनं परिष्वज्य शनैराश्वासयंस्तदा । पाणिभिर्जलशीतैश्न जयाशीर्भिक्ष कौरव,कुरुनन्दन! उस समय वे तपोधन और काशिराजकी कन्या सब-के-सब अत्यन्त उद्विग्न हो सहसा उनके पास दौड़े गये और उन्हें हृदयसे लगा हाथ फेरकर तथा शीतल जल छिड़ककर विजयसूचक आशीर्वाद देते हुए सान्त्वना देने लगे

tata enaṁ pariṣvajya śanair āśvāsayaṁs tadā | pāṇibhir jalaśītaiś ca jaya-āśīrbhiḥ kṣa kṣa kṣa kaurava ||

Lalu, sambil memeluknya, mereka menenangkannya dengan lembut. Dengan tangan yang disejukkan oleh air, mereka mengusap dan memercikkan air yang menyegarkan, sambil mengurniakan restu kemenangan—menyapanya sebagai seorang Kaurava, wahai kebanggaan keturunan Kuru.
