भीष्म–जामदग्न्यसंवादः (Amba-prasaṅga and Kurukṣetra Dvandva Declaration) / Bhishma–Jamadagnya Dialogue
अथावताप्य पृथिवीं पूषा दिवससंक्षये । जगामास्तं सहस्रांशुस्ततो युद्धमुपारमत्,भारत! उसके बादसे मैंने परशुरामजीपर फिर प्रहार नहीं किया। इधर सहस्र किरणोंवाले भगवान् सूर्य इस पृथ्वीको तपाकर दिनका अन्त होनेपर अस्त हो गये; इसलिये वह युद्ध बंद हो गया
athāvatāpya pṛthivīṃ pūṣā divasa-saṃkṣaye | jagāmāstaṃ sahasrāṃśus tato yuddham upāramat |
Setelah membakar bumi, Pūṣan—Surya yang bersinar seribu sinar—pun terbenam pada penghujung hari. Maka pertempuran itu berhenti, kerana malam yang tiba menamatkan pertarungan.
