भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्
Amba-ākhyāna prologue
एष योत्स्यति संग्रामे नाशयन् पूर्वसंस्थितम् । परं यशो विप्रथयंस्तव सेनासु भारत,भारत! वह तुम्हारी सेनामें प्रवेश करके अपने पूर्व अपयशका नाश तथा उत्तम सुयशका विस्तार करता हुआ बड़े उत्साहसे युद्ध करेगा
eṣa yotsyati saṅgrāme nāśayan pūrvasaṃsthitam | paraṃ yaśo viprathayaṃs tava senāsu bhārata bhārata ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Orang ini akan bertempur dengan semangat yang besar. Memasuki bala tentera tuan, wahai Bhārata, dia akan menghapus aib yang dahulu berakar dan akan menyebarkan kemasyhuran tertingginya.”
