Upaśruti Guides Indrāṇī to Indra; Indrāṇī Reports Nahuṣa’s Misconduct (उपश्रुति-इन्द्राणी-इन्द्रदर्शन प्रसङ्गः)
उपश्रुतिर्वाच उपश्रुतिरहं देवि तवान्तिकमुपागता । दर्शन चैव सम्प्राप्ता तव सत्येन भाविनि,उपश्रुति बोलीं--देवि! मैं उपश्रुति हूँ और तुम्हारे पास आयी हूँ। भामिनि! तुम्हारे सत्यसे प्रभावित होकर मैंने तुम्हें दर्शन दिया है
Upaśrutir uvāca—Upaśrutir ahaṃ devi tavāntikam upāgatā | darśanaṃ caiva samprāptā tava satyena bhāmini ||
Upaśruti berkata: “Wahai dewi, akulah Upaśruti, dan aku telah datang menghadapmu. Wahai wanita jelita, tersentuh oleh kekuatan kebenaranmu, aku mengurniakan kepadamu kesempatan untuk bertemu dan memandangku.”
शल्य उवाच
Truthfulness (satya) is presented as a potent ethical force that can draw grace and auspicious encounters; moral integrity is shown to have tangible spiritual consequences.
Upaśruti introduces herself to a woman addressed as ‘devi/bhāmini’ and explains that she has come near and granted her audience specifically because she was impressed or compelled by the woman’s truthfulness.
