ह्ृदयग्रहणीयानि राधेयं मधुसूदन: । यान्यब्रवीदमेयात्मा तानि मे शूणु भारत,संजय बोले--भारत! अप्रमेयस्वरूप मधुसूदन श्रीकृष्णने राधानन्दन कर्णसे जो तीक्षण, मधुर, प्रिय, धर्मसम्मत, सत्य, हितकर एवं हृदयग्राह्म बातें क्रमश: कही थीं, उन सबको आप मुझसे सुनिये

hṛdayagrahaṇīyāni rādheyaṃ madhusūdanaḥ | yāny abravīd ameyātmā tāni me śṛṇu bhārata ||

Sanjaya berkata: “Wahai Bhārata, dengarlah daripadaku kata-kata yang menawan hati—yang dituturkan menurut tertibnya oleh Madhusūdana Kṛṣṇa, yang hakikatnya tak terukur, kepada Rādheya (Karna). Kata-kata itu tajam namun manis, menyenangkan, selaras dengan dharma, benar, bermanfaat, dan bertujuan membimbing pada saat genting.”
