Udyoga Parva Adhyaya 133 — A Mother’s Counsel to Saṃjaya

यस्य हार्थाभिनिर्वत्तौ भवन्त्याप्यायिता: परे | तस्यार्थसिद्धिर्नियता नयेष्वर्थानुसारिण:,जिसके प्रयोजनकी सिद्धि होनेपर उससे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाले दूसरे लोग भी संतुष्ट एवं उन्नतिको प्राप्त होते हैं, नीतिमार्गपर चलकर अर्थसिद्धिके लिये प्रयत्न करनेवाले उस पुरुषको निश्चय ही अपने अभीष्टकी सिद्धि होती है

yasya hārthābhinirvattau bhavanty āpyāyitāḥ pare | tasyārthasiddhir niyatā nayeṣv arthānusāriṇaḥ ||

Apabila usaha seseorang mencapai hasil yang dituju, dan melalui kejayaan itu orang lain yang berkaitan dengannya turut dipelihara serta makmur, maka bagi orang itu—yang mengejar tujuan menurut nīti (kebijaksanaan tata laku) dan jalan dharma—pencapaian maksud yang dihajati adalah pasti.
