Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 130: Kuntī’s Instruction on Rājadharma and Daṇḍanīti
अग्रे बभूवु: कृष्णस्य समुद्यतमहायुधा: । भीमसेन, युधिष्ठिर तथा माद्रीनन्दन नकुलसहदेव भगवानके पृष्ठभागमें स्थित थे। प्रद्यम्म आदि वृष्णिवंशी तथा अन्धकवंशी योद्धा हाथोंमें विशाल आयुध धारण किये भगवानके अग्रभागमें प्रकट हुए
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
agre babhūvuḥ kṛṣṇasya samudyata-mahāyudhāḥ |
bhīmasenaḥ yudhiṣṭhiraś ca tathā mādrīnandana-nakula-sahadevau bhagavataḥ pṛṣṭhabhāge sthitāḥ |
pradyumnādayo vṛṣṇivaṃśyā andhakavaṃśyāś ca yoddhā hastayoḥ viśālāyudhāni dhārayantaḥ bhagavataḥ agrabhāge prādurabhavan |
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Di hadapan Kṛṣṇa berdiri para pahlawan dengan senjata besar terangkat. Di belakang Tuhan berada Bhīmasena, Yudhiṣṭhira, serta putera-putera Mādrī—Nakula dan Sahadeva. Di barisan hadapan baginda tampak Pradyumna dan wira-wira lain daripada keturunan Vṛṣṇi dan Andhaka, menggenggam senjata-senjata yang besar di tangan mereka. Susunan ini menegaskan tertib dharma dalam perlindungan: para pemimpin yang benar dilindungi, sementara para pejuang terdepan mengambil posisi hadapan di bawah bimbingan Kṛṣṇa.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic order in conflict: righteous leadership is safeguarded, and capable protectors take the front under Kṛṣṇa’s direction, suggesting that power should be organized to defend justice rather than to display aggression.
Vaiśampāyana describes a martial arrangement around Kṛṣṇa: armed Vṛṣṇi-Andhaka heroes (including Pradyumna) stand in front as the vanguard, while key Pāṇḍava figures—Bhīma, Yudhiṣṭhira, and the twins Nakula-Sahadeva—remain positioned behind him.
