धन-निरुक्ति तथा गालवस्य गुरुदक्षिणा-प्रसङ्गः

अनुज्ञातस्तु शाण्डिल्या यथागतमुपागमत् | नैव चासादयामास तथारूपांस्तुरंगमान्,तत्पश्चात् शाण्डिलीकी आज्ञा ले वे जैसे आये थे, वैसे ही चले गये। वे गालवके बताये अनुसार श्यामकर्ण घोड़े नहीं पा सके
anujñātas tu śāṇḍilyā yathāgatam upāgamat | naiva cāsādayāmāsa tathārūpāṁs turaṅgamān |
Setelah mendapat keizinan Śāṇḍilī, dia pun berangkat pulang sebagaimana dia datang. Namun dia tidak dapat memperoleh kuda-kuda yang dikehendaki; maka kuda bertelinga gelap seperti yang dihuraikan oleh Gālava tetap tidak ditemui.
