अष्टादशपुराणानां श्रवणाद् यत् फलं भवेत् | तत् फलं समवाप्रोति वैष्णवो नात्र संशय:
aṣṭādaśa-purāṇānāṃ śravaṇād yat phalaṃ bhavet | tat phalaṃ samavāpnoti vaiṣṇavo nātra saṃśayaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Apa jua pahala yang terhasil daripada mendengar lapan belas Purāṇa—pahala itu seluruhnya diperoleh oleh seorang pemuja Viṣṇu hanya dengan mendengar Mahābhārata sahaja; tiada keraguan tentangnya.
