Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Collapse and Vyāsa’s Counsel

Educational Q&A

Individual aims—such as securing a particular ruler or outcome—can trigger consequences that engulf many others; the verse underscores how personal desire and political choices can summon collective suffering, making ethical responsibility extend beyond private intentions.

The speaker states that once the addressed person obtains the king, her objective will be fulfilled; then it notes that for his sake the kings of the earth gathered at Kurukṣetra, foreshadowing the large-scale mobilization that culminates in war.
