Adhyāya 17 — Gandhārī’s Vilāpa at Duryodhana’s Body (स्त्रीपर्व, अध्याय १७)
नि:सपत्ना मही यस्य त्रयोदश समा: स्थिता । स शेते निहतो भूमौ पुत्रो मे पृथिवीपति:,“यह सारी पृथ्वी तेरह वर्षोतक निष्कण्टकभावसे जिसके अधिकारमें रही है, वही मेरा पुत्र पृथ्वीपति दुर्योधन आज मारा जाकर पृथ्वीपर पड़ा है
niḥsapatnā mahī yasya trayodaśa samāḥ sthitā | sa śete nihato bhūmau putro me pṛthivīpatiḥ |
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Dia yang pernah memerintah bumi ini tanpa saingan selama tiga belas tahun—anakku, penguasa negeri, Duryodhana—kini terbaring di tanah, terbunuh.”
