Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
नाचिन्तयत् तदा शापं तेन दत्तं महात्मना । तस्य पुत्रास्तु बलिन: शापेनासन् _पितुर्वधे
nācintayat tadā śāpaṃ tena dattaṃ mahātmanā | tasya putrās tu balinaḥ śāpenāsan pitur vadhe ||
Vāsudeva berkata: “Pada waktu itu dia tidak memikirkan sumpahan yang diucapkan oleh resi yang berhati luhur itu. Namun, oleh kekuatan sumpahan yang sama, anak-anak lelakinya yang gagah menjadi punca kematian ayah mereka sendiri.”
वासुदेव उवाच
Disregarding a righteous warning—especially a curse uttered by a spiritually authoritative person—does not nullify its moral force; consequences can mature in unexpected ways, even turning one’s own strengths (such as powerful sons) into instruments of downfall.
Vāsudeva explains that the person concerned ignored the curse at the moment it was given, but later, due to that curse, his strong sons became the direct cause of their father’s death.
