Yudhiṣṭhira’s Post-Accession Settlements and Approach to Vāsudeva (युधिष्ठिरस्य राज्यस्थापनं वासुदेवाभिगमनं च)

प्राप्पय राज्यं महाराज कुन्तीपुत्रो युधिष्ठिर: । चातुर्वर्ण्य यथायोग्यं स्वे स्वे स्थाने न्यवेशयत्‌,महाराज! दुन्तीपुत्र युधिष्ठिरने राज्य प्राप्त करनेके बाद सबसे पहले चारों वर्णोंको योग्यतानुसार अपने-अपने स्थान (कर्तव्यपालन) में स्थिर किया

Vaiśampāyana uvāca | prāpya rājyaṃ mahārāja kuntīputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | cāturvarṇyaṃ yathāyogyaṃ sve sve sthāne nyaveśayat ||

Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai raja agung, setelah memperoleh kedaulatan, Yudhiṣṭhira putera Kuntī terlebih dahulu menegakkan empat varṇa menurut kelayakan masing-masing, menempatkan setiap golongan pada kedudukan tugasnya yang wajar.”
