एतत्‌ ते कथितं सर्व यथावृत्तं युधिष्ठिर । समासेन महद्धयेतच्छोतव्यं भरतर्षभ,भरतभूषण युधिष्ठिर! यह सब वृत्तान्त तुम्हें यथावत्‌ रूपसे थोड़ेमें बताया गया। यह महत्त्वपूर्ण प्रसंग सबको सुनना चाहिये

etat te kathitaṃ sarvaṃ yathāvṛttaṃ yudhiṣṭhira | samāsena mahad hy etac chrotavyaṃ bharatarṣabha ||

Vyāsa berkata: “Wahai Yudhiṣṭhira, telah kukhabarkan kepadamu semuanya tepat sebagaimana terjadi, secara ringkas. Wahai banteng di antara kaum Bharata, inilah kisah yang besar dan berat—yang patut didengar.”
