Nāga-āyatana-darśana-pratīkṣā — The Brāhmaṇa’s Request and Waiting on the Gomatī
नरनारायणावूचतु: अपीदानीं स भगवान् परमात्मा सनातन:
naranārāyaṇāv ūcatuḥ apīdānīṃ sa bhagavān paramātmā sanātanaḥ
Nara dan Nārāyaṇa berkata: “Bahkan sekarang juga, Tuhan Yang Mulia itu—Ātman Tertinggi, Yang Kekal—(tetap hadir/berkarya).”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse affirms the timeless presence and authority of the Supreme Lord (Paramātmā), emphasizing an ethical-theological foundation: dharma and right understanding rest upon recognition of the eternal divine reality, not merely on changing circumstances.
Within Vaiśampāyana’s narration, the twin sages Nara and Nārāyaṇa speak, pointing to “that Blessed Lord, the eternal Supreme Self,” as the decisive reference point—either to validate a teaching being given or to ground the discussion in the presence of the divine.
