धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)
पूजयित्वा च देवेशं पुनरायात् स्वमाश्रमम् | व्यासजी सदा ही आकाशमार्गसे अमृतनिधि क्षीर-सागरके तटपर जाकर देवेश्वर श्रीहरिकी पूजा करनेके पश्चात् पुनः: अपने आश्रमपर लौट आते हैं
vaiśampāyana uvāca | pūjayitvā ca deveśaṃ punar āyāt svam āśramam |
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Setelah menyembah dengan sewajarnya Tuhan para dewa, baginda kembali lagi ke pertapaan miliknya. Kisah ini menegaskan teladan: bhakti yang penuh hormat hendaklah diiringi disiplin—kembali kepada tugas dan jalan hidup yang telah ditetapkan.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Devotion is shown as purposeful and disciplined: one honors the divine with proper worship and then returns to one’s rightful station (āśrama) and responsibilities, integrating bhakti with dharma rather than abandoning duty.
The speaker reports that after worshipping the supreme deity (deveśa), the person in focus returns to his own hermitage, marking the completion of a devotional act and a transition back to ascetic life and regular observances.
