धर्मस्य बहुद्वारत्वम् — Nārada’s Audience with Indra (Śānti-parva 340)

नच मां ते ददृशिरे न च द्रक्ष्यति कश्नन । ऋते हौकान्तिकश्रेष्ठात्‌ त्वं चैवैकान्तिकोत्तम:,किंतु उन्हें मेरा दर्शन न प्राप्त हो सका। वास्तवमें मेरे अनन्य भक्तके सिवा और कोई मनुष्य मेरा दर्शन नहीं कर सकता। तुम तो मेरे अनन्य भक्तोंमें श्रेष्ठ हो; इसीलिये तुम्हें मेरा दर्शन हुआ है

na ca māṃ te dadṛśire na ca drakṣyati kaścana | ṛte hy aikāntikaśreṣṭhāt tvaṃ caivāikāntikottamaḥ ||

Orang lain tidak pernah melihat-Ku, dan tiada sesiapa pun yang lain akan melihat-Ku. Kecuali yang terunggul dalam kalangan para bhakta yang berbakti dengan satu hati, tiada manusia dapat benar-benar menatap-Ku. Engkau yang terbaik antara mereka yang teguh setia kepada-Ku; maka kerana itu engkau dikurniai penglihatan akan Diri-Ku.
