गरुत्मानथ विक्षिप्य पक्षौ मारुतवेगवान् | विवेश विवरं भूमेर्यत्रास्ते पार्थिवो वसु:,यह आज्ञा पाकर वायुके समान वेगशाली गरुड अपने दोनों पंख फैलाकर उड़े और पातालमें जहाँ राजा वसु विराजमान थे, घुस गये
garutmān atha vikṣipya pakṣau mārutavegavān | viveśa vivaraṃ bhūmer yatrāste pārthivo vasuḥ ||
Bhishma berkata: Kemudian Garuḍa, sepantas angin, mengembangkan kedua-dua sayapnya lalu terbang. Setelah menerima perintah itu, dia memasuki lubang pada bumi dan turun ke alam bawah tanah tempat Raja Vasu bersemayam.
