अश्वशिरो-आख्यानम्

स्वर्गस्था अपि ये केचित्‌ तान्‌ नमस्यन्ति देहिन: । ते तत्प्रसादाद्‌ गच्छन्ति तेनादिष्ट फलां गतिम्‌,स्वर्गमें रहनेवाले प्राणियोंमेंसे भी जो कोई उस परमात्माको प्रणाम करते हैं, वे उसके कृपा-प्रसादसे उसीकी आज्ञाके अनुसार फल देनेवाली उत्तम गतिको प्राप्त करते हैं

svargasthā api ye kecit tān namasyanti dehinaḥ | te tatprasādād gacchanti tenādiṣṭa-phalāṃ gatiṃ ||

Nārada berkata: Bahkan dalam kalangan makhluk yang berdiam di syurga, sesiapa yang menundukkan diri dengan hormat kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Tinggi itu akan—dengan limpah kurnia-Nya—mencapai haluan takdir yang mulia, yang mengurniakan buahnya menurut ketetapan perintah-Nya.

Educational Q&A

Heavenly status alone is not the final measure of spiritual attainment; those who bow to the Supreme attain an excellent destiny through divine grace, with results dispensed according to His ordinance.

Nārada is instructing his listener that even beings already in Svarga depend on devotion to the Supreme; by offering homage, they progress to a higher, divinely allotted state that bears the appropriate fruits.
