उपर्युपरि लोकस्य सर्वो गन्तुं समीहते । यतते च यथाशक्ति न च तद् वर्तते तथा,सब लोग लोकोंके ऊपर-से-ऊपर स्थानमें जाना चाहते हैं और यथाशक्ति इसके लिये चेष्टा भी करते हैं; किंतु वैसा करनेमें समर्थ नहीं होते
uparyupari lokasya sarvo gantuṃ samīhate | yatate ca yathāśakti na ca tad vartate tathā ||
Nārada berkata: “Setiap orang mendambakan untuk naik ke alam-alam yang lebih tinggi. Masing-masing berusaha menurut kemampuan, namun hal-hal tidak terjadi tepat demikian—seseorang tidak mampu mencapainya hanya dengan berhasrat dan berjerih payah semata-mata.”
