सुवर्णष्ठीविनोपाख्यानम्
The Account of Suvarṇaṣṭhīvin
नारद उवाच एवमेतन्महाबाहो यथायं केशवोडब्रवीत् । कार्यस्यास्य तु यच्छेष॑ तत् ते वक्ष्यामि पृच्छत:
nārada uvāca evam etan mahābāho yathāyaṃ keśavo 'bravīt | kāryasyāsya tu yac cheṣaṃ tat te vakṣyāmi pṛcchataḥ ||
Nārada berkata: “Benarlah demikian, wahai yang berlengan perkasa—tepat seperti yang telah dinyatakan oleh Keśava (Kṛṣṇa). Adapun apa yang masih berbaki untuk dikatakan tentang perkara ini, akan aku jelaskan kepadamu menurut pertanyaanmu.”
नारद उवाच
The verse emphasizes fidelity to authoritative instruction: Nārada affirms that Kṛṣṇa’s statement is true and then commits to completing the explanation, showing that ethical understanding (dharma) is transmitted through reliable testimony and careful, question-led teaching.
Nārada, as the speaker, confirms what Kṛṣṇa (Keśava) previously said on the topic under discussion and tells the listener (addressed as “mighty-armed”) that he will now explain the remaining points in response to the listener’s questions.
