Adhyātma–Adhibhūta–Adhidaivata Correspondences and the Triguṇa Lakṣaṇas (Śānti-parva 301)
सांख्ये त्विदानीं कार्त्स्न्येन विधि प्रब्रूहि पृच्छते । त्रिषु लोकेषु यज्ज्ञानं सर्व तद् विदितं हि ते,अब मैं सांख्यविषयक सम्पूर्ण विधि पूछ रहा हूँ। आप मुझे उसे बतानेकी कृपा करें; क्योंकि तीनों लोकोंमें जो ज्ञान है, वह सब आपको विदित है
sāṅkhye tv idānīṁ kārtsnyena vidhiṁ prabrūhi pṛcchate | triṣu lokeṣu yaj jñānaṁ sarvaṁ tad viditaṁ hi te ||
Yudhiṣṭhira berkata: “Kini aku memohon agar engkau menghuraikan dengan lengkap kaedah dan ajaran Sāṅkhya. Jelaskanlah kepadaku, kerana segala pengetahuan yang ada di tiga alam itu sesungguhnya telah engkau ketahui.”
युधिछिर उवाच
The verse frames a formal request for complete instruction in Sāṅkhya—an analytical path of knowledge—emphasizing humility, disciplined inquiry, and reliance on an authoritative knower for guidance toward right understanding.
In Śānti Parva’s teaching setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a revered instructor and asks for a full exposition of Sāṅkhya, praising the teacher as one who knows the totality of knowledge found across the three worlds.
