ततो मोहपरीतास्ता नापश्यन्त यथा पुरा । परस्परावमर्देन वर्धयन्त्यो यथासुखम्‌,मोहसे घिर जानेपर उनमें पहले-जैसी विवेकपूर्ण दृष्टि नहीं रह गयी; अतः वे परस्पर एक-दूसरेका विनाश करके अपने-अपने सुखको बढ़ानेकी चेष्टा करने लगे

tato mohapārītāstā nāpaśyanta yathā purā | parasparāvamardena vardhayantyo yathāsukham ||

Kemudian, apabila mereka diselubungi delusi, mereka tidak lagi melihat dengan pandangan budi yang jernih seperti dahulu. Demi menambah kesenangan sendiri, mereka mula menghancurkan satu sama lain—menjadikan mudarat sesama sebagai jalan kepada keuntungan peribadi.
