पूर्वोपायोपपन्नेन मार्गण वरवर्णिनि | न मे सुरा: प्रयच्छन्ति भागं यज्ञस्य धर्मत:,सुन्दरि! पूर्वनिश्चित नियमके अनुसार धर्मकी दृष्टिसे ही देवतालोग यज्ञमें मुझे भाग नहीं अर्पित करते हैं

pūrvopāyopapannena mārgaṇa varavarṇini | na me surāḥ prayacchanti bhāgaṃ yajñasya dharmataḥ, sundari ||

Maheśvara berkata: “Wahai wanita berkulit indah, meskipun aku telah dicari menurut upaya yang benar sebagaimana ditetapkan sejak dahulu, para dewa—berpegang pada apa yang mereka anggap sebagai aturan dharma—tetap tidak menyerahkan kepadaku bahagian yang sepatutnya dalam yajña.”
