Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions

When the mind is shaken (samudvigna), one should receive and cultivate ‘svasti’—auspicious confidence grounded in dharma. The verse presents divine and sage authority as restoring steadiness and courage, implying that righteous effort is supported by higher order and wise counsel.
Vasiṣṭha points out that the great deities—Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva—along with Soma and the supreme seers, observe the addressed person’s distress and pronounce auspicious words, specifically wishing victory.
